Search For Life - Real God, Real Life, Real People
 

Why do so many contradictions exist in our lives?
What is the cause of so many human tensions?
How can I do life well?
This course equips us to understand the cause of our most basic struggles and offers solutions to them.

Search for Life will be on Thursday nights at 7:00pm from late August, 2008

This 10 week course was developed by Allan Meyer of CareForce Church, Victoria.

Search For Life was an opportunity to work through issues that may have been holding them back from experiencing the freedom to simply be themselves, to do life well, to enjoy abundant life and rich relationships.

"People need to feel valued, accepted and have a sense of belonging. Without it individuals resort to inadequate and destructive patterns of behaviour to address feelings of low self-esteem, inadequacy and anxiety"

This program identified and introduced participants to the healing power of truth, in a caring and safe environment.

It was run by trained facilitators committed to providing space for participants to find healing and wholeness.

 

Journeys - Ordinary people,
extraordinary God

This course was offered earlier this year. We gathered and shared over coffee and dessert while reflecting on issues of life. Our chats were informed by the Journeys series. Everyone was encouraged and challenged by the simplicity of living in relationship with Jesus Christ. The topics we discussed were:

Is there a spiritual side to me?
If God and heaven exist, what are they like?
Does this faith thing work in real life?
Does God have real power to change things?
Crossing the line - what's that like?

This is a five-part DVD series produced by New Zealand journalist Rob Harley. Each DVD is approximately 25 minutes and is a compilation of inspiring stories about the role of faith and courage in the lives of ordinary people.

It is non-cheesy, informal, open-ended and allows people to process issues of faith.

Journeys is a great faith builder for believers too as people recount the powerful way God encounters them in their everyday lives.

Alpha - An opportunity to explore the
meaning of life

Alpha was a 10-session practical introduction to the Christian faith. Each session involved a shared dinner, presentation of key issues on DVD featuring Nicky Gumbel and an opportunity to chat in small groups over dessert. It was a unique opportunity to explore the Christian faith while developing authentic relationships.

Some of the talks included:
Who is Jesus?
Why Did Jesus Die?
Why and How Should I Read the Bible?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
How Does God Guide Us?
Does God Heal Today?

Our church community allowed us to pay $10 per week for dinner ($5 pensioner conc.) possible through the generosity of ChangeMakers giving. Thank you all!

Alpha was held at Eternity on Thursday nights at 7:00pm. Up to 20 people came and shared with us over dinner, coffee and dessert over May, June and July... it was a great opportunity to build friendship and community while discovering the truth about Jesus Christ.
